Thanksgiving Place Cards

Help everyone find their seats at the table on Turkey Day with our Thanksgiving Place Cards that bring some extra flair and let everyone proudly display what they’re thankful for.

Supplies:

  • Brown acrylic paint
  • Paint brush sponge
  • Fall colored construction paper (orange, yellow, brown and red)
  • White 8.5”x11” paper
  • Permanent marker
  • Googly eyes
  • Wide clothespins
  • Child-safe scissors
  • Child-safe glue stick

STEP 1:

Paint your clothespins with the acrylic paint and let dry. One coat should be enough, though feel free to add an extra coat if you want the colors to be brighter. Then, wait 20-30 minutes for it to completely dry.

STEP 2:

Once the paint is dry, cut a little triangle from orange paper. Take your new orange triangle and your googly eyes and dab them with your glue stick. Stick them gently onto the mouth of your clothespin (the part that snaps together) and let the glue dry.

STEP 3:

Keep your scissors out because you’re going to use them to cut out leaves from your fall color themed construction paper. Cut different shapes using the colored paper so you capture the full spectrum of autumn leaves! Don’t worry about how well cut they are, just have fun!

STEP 4:

Using the 8” X 11” paper, write down each dinner guest’s name and cut the names out. Then, assemble your name tags and paper leaves together, sticking them gently in the mouth of the clothes’ spin, name tag on top. Place your turkeys at your table settings so your friends and family know where to sit and instruct them to use each leaf to write what they’re thankful for!
