Bubble Painting Activity
Level up your summer bubbles with a pop of color! This outdoor activity is perfect to do with the kids on a nice day. We recommend not trying this on a windy day as your bubbles might not go where you’d like them to!
Supplies:
- Large sheet of paper
- Bubble Machine
- Bubble Solution
- Food Coloring
- Straws
- Small Bowl
- Whisk
- Masking tape or rubber bands
STEP 1:
We have two methods for you to try: one uses a bubble machine and the other uses a bowl with straws. Feel free to try both!
For a bubble machine, add a few drops of food coloring to your bottled bubble solution. If you have multiple bottles of bubble solution you can use a new color in each bottle.
STEP 2:
Lay your paper out and blast those bubbles. Look at all those cool colors!
STEP 3:
Now let’s try the straw and bowl method!
Pour some bubble solution into the bowl and add a few drops of your preferred color of food coloring. Use your whisk to mix well.
Note: If you don’t have bubble solution an alternative (that some have had even more luck with) is water and a couple squirts of dish soap combined with food coloring.
STEP 4:
Bind several straws together using masking tape or a rubber band.
Place the straw in your bowl with the colorful solution and blow out to create bubbles in the bowl. Then lift the bubbles out on the straw and blow onto your paper.
Note: All of the ingredients used here are non-toxic but make sure to keep an eye on little ones who might want to drink through the straws.
Things to Consider:
- Your bubble artwork could make a great piece of art as is, or it could also be a perfect backdrop for other additions. For instance, you could cut it to the size of a birthday card and write out a nice happy birthday note on it.
