Candy Crayons

At some point, parents get to teach little ones not to eat crayons, but don’t worry — they can enjoy playing with and eating these ones! Our Candy Crayon Craft will have you laughing, drawing, and reaching for more. We’ll bet you’ve never gone through a crayon pack faster.

Materials
Candy melts (we chose pink and purple)
Straws
Pencil sharpener (washed thoroughly)
Plastic sandwich bags

Step One
Gather your materials.

Step Two
Melt your candy melts. You can do this in a microwave or with a double boiler on the stove.

Step Three
Next, put your melted candy into a plastic sandwich baggy. Once you press all the air out, seal the baggy and work the melted candy so it’s all in one corner of the bag. Then, cut a small hole in that corner and gently squeeze the candy into one of your straws until it is about one third filled. Repeat this for all colors and straws.

Step Four
Place the straws in the freezer to cool for two hours. Then, take them out and start carefully removing the candy from each straw.

Step Five
With your clean sharpener, start making points for your crayons by sharpening them.

Congratulations! You have made your very own edible crayons. Enjoy!
