DIY Tile Coasters

Whether you’re looking for a creative Mother’s Day gift from dad and the kids or an activity for your little ones to do, these DIY coasters are easy to make and fun for everyone.

Materials:

  • Your choice of acrylic paints
  • Triple thick glaze spray (to be used by adults only)
  • Ceramic tile
  • Rubber furniture bumpers
  • Paint brush (in case you want to add additional embellishments)
  • Cleanup supplies

Step 1:

Choose your paints and make sure to pour them onto a paper plate or an easily washable surface.

Step 2:

Have your little one dip his or her hand into the paint. Parents can help here and keep napkins handy for cleanup!

Step 3:

Make sure you’ve got plenty of paint on your hands.

Step 4:

Press your hands onto the tile to apply the paint. Repeat with as many tiles and as many color combinations as you’d like.

Step 5:

Once you’ve finished painting it, let it dry. See paint instructions for drying time.

Step 6:

Once dried, you (or another adult) can safely spray Glaze on the dried tile in a well-ventilated area. Make sure to follow all package instructions and let the tile dry for 24 hours.

Step 7:

Now you’ve got a colorful coaster ready to brighten up any room in your house.
