Saint Patrick’s Day Rainbow Decoration
Bring some color and a little luck of the Irish into your house with our St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Decoration.
Supplies:
- Rainbow streamers – all colors should be around 30 inches long (76.2 cm)
- Gold streamers
- Scissors (adult assistance)
- Glue stick
- One-hole puncher (adult or older child assistance)
- Gold ribbons
- Ruler/measuring tape
- Paper plate
STEP 1:
First up, cut your paper plate down the middle until you have two half-pie shapes.
STEP 2:
Next, cut a long section out of your red streamer, it can be as long as you want but preferably around 30 inches long (76.2 cm). You will cut more streamer colors for this craft, so note that they can all be around the same length, unless otherwise specified. Now glue the center of this to the curved top of your cut paper plate so that the rest of the streamer hangs down on both sides.
STEP 3:
Repeat Step 2, cut and glue an orange streamer that’s slightly overlapping the red streamer. Then take a yellow streamer and glue it so it’s slightly overlapping the orange.
STEP 4:
Glue a green streamer over top of the yellow streamer you just put down. Then, glue a light blue streamer over top of the green.
STEP 5:
Now, take a purple streamer about half as long as your streamers and glue it in the very center of the hanging streamers to complete your full rainbow. Give the glue a minute to sit and dry.
STEP 6:
Once your streamers are securely glued, cut out a section of your shimmery gold streamers as long as the rays of the rainbow that are hanging down. Have them slightly overlapping each ray. Do this for the rays on both sides of the rainbow.
STEP 7:
Finally, have an adult or older child use the hole punch and gently make a hole at the very top of the rainbow in the plate. Feed your gold ribbon through this and tie (or glue for extra stability) the two ends of the ribbon together.
STEP 8:
Find a window, wall or door that would work for hanging this colorful St. Patrick’s Day craft!
