Valentine’s Day Hanging Gem Suncatcher Decoration

A beautiful handmade craft from your little one is extra special! With just a few easy steps, we’ll show you how to create a totally original accessory to hang up and enjoy for years to come!

Materials:

• A food storage container lid
• 25 – 50 different colored glass gems
• Clear glue
• A length of red ribbon
• A piece of paper towel

Step 1.
Begin by placing your food storage lid onto a sheet of paper towel with the top side down. Next, fill the lid with your clear glue. Make sure to leave some extra room in the lid so that the glue doesn’t overflow when you add gems in the next step.

Step 2.
Now it’s time to decorate! Arrange your glass gems into the glue in your favorite pattern. You could try creating a fun shape like a heart or arrange them to cover the whole lid evenly.

Step 3.
Allow one week for your creation to dry, then carefully remove it from inside the storage container lid.

Step 4.
Now that your craft is removed, you should see several holes made inside the decoration from air bubbles. Carefully thread your ribbon through one of these air bubbles, then tie both ends together.

Step 5.
Your finished craft is now ready to be hung up and displayed! We recommend placing it over a window so that you can marvel as the light glitters off each beautiful gem inside the decoration.
