Create Your Own Turkey Cone

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, you and your little ones can create a turkey of your very own. Whether you place it at the center of your Thanksgiving spread or use it as a placeholder for your Thanksgiving dinner table, it’s sure to find a special place in your heart.

Materials:

• Scotch tape
• Googly eyes
• Orange construction paper
• Several different colors of patterned paper
• Scissors
• Glue

Step 1:
Begin by using your scissors to cut a large half circle out of your piece of orange paper.

Step 2:
Roll up the half circle to create a cone and then secure it with a piece of tape.

Step 3:
On the backside of your patterned paper, sketch out long oval shapes that come to a point at each end like feathers.

Step 4:
Use your scissors to cut out each feather until you have a handful of each color and pattern.

Step 5:
Arrange your feathers and glue them onto the back side of your paper cone to create the turkey’s plumage.

Step 6:
Now it’s time to add the finishing touches. Glue on a pair of googly eyes, then create a beak by cutting out a diamond shape piece of paper and gluing it in half. If you’d like, you can even use your textured paper to create a gizzard!
