Egg Carton Chicks

If the internet has taught us anything, it is that there is simply nothing more adorable than baby animals. These baby chicks aren’t just cute, they’re also easy to make and so much fun to play with. Here’s how to make some of your own:

  1. Gather your materials. You’ll need construction paper, yellow paint, a paintbrush, a glue stick, a black marker, childproof safety scissors and an egg carton. Each chick requires two egg carton cups, so a half dozen carton will make three chicks.

  1. Use the scissors to cut each egg carton cup out. Starting at the base and cutting upwards should give you the cleanest cutout.

  1. Paint each egg carton cup yellow. Then, cut out “beaks,” “wings” and “feet” from the construction paper. Each chick needs two sides of a beak, two wings and two feet.

  1. Glue two cups on top of each other from only the back panel. This way you can lift the top cup to make the chick “talk.” Then, glue on the beaks, wings and feet. Draw eyes with the black marker and voila!
