Mother’s Day Pop-up Cards

Don’t get stuck with nothing to do. This magnetic DIY Felt Picnic Activity is the perfect afternoon craft for fun on the front of your fridge!

Supplies:

  • Colorful Origami Paper (6”x6”)
  • Colorful Card Stock (8.5”x11”)
  • Scissors (adult assistance)
  • Glue Stick
  • Markers
  • Pen and Pencil

STEP 1:

Pick your shape! Tulip flower shapes and circles work really well for this activity. If you have more than one little in the house, have each of them choose whichever one they’d like to do! Draw an outline of your shape on a scrap piece of paper, then use it as a stencil to cut out this shape in as many different colors as you like on the origami paper. If you choose circles, make sure to cut out a separate flower shape to glue the circles to later. And remember you’ll be putting a thoughtful note on each page, so be sure to accommodate the size of the shapes for little hands that make big letters.

STEP 2:

Who knew folding could be this much fun? Fold each of the paper shapes in half. For your tulip flower shapes, line them up in the order you’d like the colors to appear.

STEP 3:

Grab a glue stick and glue one side of each of the corresponding paper shapes together. It should look like a book when it’s done. Once that has dried, glue the back of your “tulip flower book” to the front of an 8.5”x11” colorful card stock. For circle shapes, glue your “circle book” to the flower you cut out in step one, then glue the back of that to an 8.5”x11” colorful card stock.

STEP 4:

Time to get creative with some thoughtful notes! On each of the pop-up pages, write something special for Mom to read on Mother’s Day! Don’t forget to share your creations with us on Instagram and Facebook!
